Dr. Clare Chambers

Appalachian Adventure Kids Camp grew from my lifelong love of nature, learning, and time spent outdoors. Growing up in rural Ohio shaped my belief in the power of exploration, curiosity, and connection. With over a decade of experience as a nurse and a Doctor of Nursing Practice, I bring a thoughtful, caring approach to creating a camp environment where children feel safe, valued, and supported. As a mother of two boys, I’m passionate about creating a space where kids can connect with nature, build confidence, and feel a true sense of belonging.

Founder, Director & Lead Educator

Cheree Langford

Cheree’s love for plants, wildlife, and the natural world began along the coastline outside GA. Before the pandemic, she served as a garden manager and early childhood educator at a YMCA Cultural Center in Savannah. She embraced the garden as a space for learning, nourishment, and connection within the community. Now homesteading at Willow Roots Homestead in Marshall, North Carolina, Cheree focuses on regenerative agriculture and ecotourism. She is excited to once again share her passion and help children connect with nature and themselves in meaningful ways.

Founding Educator

Kim Ross

We are grateful to Kim for her role in initiating and shaping Appalachian Adventure Kids Camp. With a background in private and therapeutic education and a passion for nature-based learning, Kim helped establish the camp’s foundation of curiosity, inclusion, and adventure. Although she will not be joining us this summer as she focuses on growing her family, we are thankful for her vision and the role she played in bringing this camp to life.
